PSE&G Children's Specialized Hospital and New York Giants Team Up to Offer Text to Donate Campaign

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J., Sept. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- New Jersey: Fans at the New York Giants vs. Washington Redskins game this Sunday, September 13, will be encouraged to join the team in a new fight: supporting PSE&G Children's Specialized Hospital, an inpatient rehabilitation hospital for children recovering from accidents, illnesses, premature birth, and life-changing conditions.

Through an innovative mobile giving program, fans can use their cellular phone, text the word "Giants" to 90999, to send a $5.00 donation to help children and families at the hospital. This is the second time the New York Giants have dedicated a game solely to PSE&G Children's Specialized Hospital.

"This is a terrific opportunity to spread the message of our hospital and raise money," said Philip Salerno III, president and chief development officer of Children's Specialized Hospital Foundation. "We're grateful for our partnership with PSE&G, and now the New York Giants. By teaming up, these organizations have shown their tremendous commitment to kids and families in our communities."

The game also marks the organization's Alumni Day, a homecoming for former players. New York Giants Alumni visited patients at the hospital's New Brunswick facility on September 8 in anticipation of the event. Alumni signed autographs, toured the hospital, and met children living at the hospital during their intensive rehabilitation therapy.

Patients from the hospital will participate in Sunday's match up as well. PSE&G Children's Specialized Hospital patient Tajzir Wilson , will join PSE&G representatives for the coin toss at the start of the game. Members of the hospital's Lightning Wheels athletic team will accompany alumni players out on the field during a special halftime ceremony. Fifty-thousand lucky fans will receive a commemorative rally towel, generously sponsored by SpongeTech.
