No selfies or Netflix allowed
France wouldn’t be France without its rules.
Chairman Pierre Lescure announced that people are not allowed to take selfies
on the red carpet. In 2017 there were no Netflix films selected to compete and
that will be no different for this year. To be in competition, films should be screenplayed
in a cinema and since that’s not the case for Netflix movies, these will not be
included in this year’s festival.
Other categories
Next to the
films in competition, there will also be some special and midnight screenings.
“Solo: A Star Wars Story” by Ron Howard
will be a movie out of competition, along with “Le Grand Bain” from Gilles Lellouche.
