Ernesto Bassignano.

iCrossing Connects Skiers with Vail Resorts' Properties
Vail, Beaver Creek, Keystone, Breckenridge and Heavenly Sites Connect Users with the Local Experience

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Feb. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- iCrossing, a global digital marketing agency (http://news.icrossing.com/) announced today the launch of destination Web sites for Vail Resorts' properties including Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone in Colorado, and Heavenly in California and Nevada.

Last year, iCrossing launched www.snow.com, an entry point for all five of the Vail Resorts mountain resorts. The site won the OMMA Award for "Best Travel Web Site."

Like snow.com, each individual Vail Resorts site was built from the ground up for search visibility and usability based on extensive research into the online behavior and needs of Vail Resorts' customers.

The creative design and copy, developed by iCrossing, reflects the uniqueness of each resort brand through tone and style, and helps the user book a ski vacation that is just right for them, whether they are looking for a resort with the most family-friendly activities or the best apres ski spots.

A large part of the project was the development by iCrossing of a planning and buying process that now enables users to research and customize individual vacation purchases, like lift tickets, or put together customized vacation packages according to their specific criteria, such as price range, number of children, etc. As vacation planning is rarely an impulse purchase, users can save their settings and revisit at a later time.

Although each site's look and feel is unique, they all include common tools to make exploring each site more efficient for users. All of the sites feature simple navigation to videos, current ski conditions and live Web cams. The site architectures were designed to be built on a common platform to greatly increase efficiency in maintaining and updating the sites and eliminate redundancies in vendor contracts for data feeds.

"All of the Vail Resorts sites demonstrate how research and search insights inform creative and technology to drive experiences that are useful, usable and desirable and help build truly connected brands," said Stephen Thompson, executive vice president/executive creative director, iCrossing. "By listening to your audience and understanding how they think, speak, seek, and behave, you can create online experiences that connect on a more personal level."

"Different skiers want different adventures," said Matthew Windt, senior manager, online marketing & E-Commerce, Vail Resorts. "Our goal with each site is to match travelers to their ideal getaway with a fun, interactive online experience."

The WINTERFEST'10 Water Polo Tournament
(Feb 12th-14th)
Finds Growth through Diversity -
All Ages, Skill Levels,
Co-Ed & Single Gender Teams Participate

LOS ALAMITOS, Calif., Feb. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Los Al WPC (The Los Alamitos Water Polo Club) announced the nationally recognized WINTERFEST Water Polo Tournament is being held from February 12th through the 14th throughout Orange County and L.A. County, with top-division playoff rounds at the Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training Base. The tournament includes support from leading industry sponsors Mikasa Sports, TruWest, SwimExchange, Monsterpolo and others.

This year marks the seventh WINTERFEST Water Polo Tournament which was originally founded by Los Al WPC as a localized Southern California event. The event has rapidly grown to include Water Polo teams from as far North as Washington, as far East as Florida and on occasion, even international clubs join the action. The overwhelming growth and success of the event stems largely from the liberal team admissions criteria adopted by Los Al WPC . The WINTERFEST admittance standards foster diversity among players and are less restrictive than water polo tournaments hosted by other event organizers. The WINTERFEST skill levels ("skill flights") range from beginner through advanced, ages may range from 7 to 70 and even co-ed teams are invited to participate in the event. Participant diversity makes WINTERFEST a genuinely unique water polo event.

Bahram Hojreh, founder and Director of Los Al WPC, comments:

"The WINTERFEST Water Polo Tournament has become a household name to those participating in the sport. I genuinely appreciate the continued support of coaches, facility managers, sponsors, players and others involved in helping organize, develop and host the regular meets and championship events. It is these people, and their enthusiasm for the sport, that has helped to drive the success of the nationally recognized WINTERFEST Water Polo Tournament.

Those of us who originally organized the event - including avid water polo players and coaches - wanted to provide an opportunity for all serious players to compete in a genuine championship event - regardless of their age, gender or skill level. We realized that the admissions requirements applied by other water polo event organizers were too stringent. Thus, we opted to incorporate a diverse and broad set of standards, permitting competition of all genders and co-ed teams, all skill 'flights' ranging from amateur through advanced levels and all ages from '10&U' [ages 10 and under] through 20+ adult teams. It worked. Participants and sponsors quickly caught on to the opportunities helping us grow WINTERFEST from a local event into a nationally recognized event.

We expect growth compared to last year's event which included over 93 clubs, 350 teams, 4,000 players, 85 referees spread out over 24 pools and drawing the attention of over 100,000 fans, friends and family members."

Fans, friends and family members interested in attending the events should visit http://www.winterfestwaterpolo.com/.

Water Polo teams and clubs interested in competing in future WINTERFEST or other Los Al WPC events should contact Event Director Bahram Hojreh at coach@LosAlamitosWaterPolo.com

Press planning on attending is asked to contact Bahram Hojreh prior to the events for event schedules and other event related information.

STORIA DI UN JUKE BOX
Lunedì 22 febbraio, 0re 21,00
Teatro Alfieri – Torino

Ricoh Photo Gallery RING CUBE Exhibition Announcement

- Ikuo Tatsumi Photo Exhibition: "Run! Shoot! In the World's Marathons" -

TOKYO, Feb. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Ricoh Co., Ltd. has announced the start of the Ikuo Tatsumi Photo Exhibition: "Run! Shoot! In the World's Marathons" from February 3, 2010. This is an exhibition of works chosen from among those submitted during the July-September 2009 public submission period. Entering marathons in Tokyo and six other major cities (New York, Vancouver, Berlin, London, Roma and Seoul), from the course Ikuo Tatsumi shot photographs of scenes and people that gave his heart pause as he ran. Over 120 photographs are to be exhibited.

(Photo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20100202/RICOH)

These fresh and vivid images of roadside and course scenery are presented from a new viewpoint: that of the runner. Energized by the vigor and smiling faces of these photographs, viewers will be ready to go out and run themselves. There are plans to also present a special selection of photographs of the Tokyo Yumemai Marathon, in which participants run on sidewalks following traffic rules, and photographs of marathons in Okinawa, which have a festival atmosphere.

At Ricoh, our ambition is for RING CUBE to be not only "a place to display and appreciate photographs," but also a gathering place for people who want to both enjoy photographs and express themselves through photographs and a place that expands the possibilities of photography. We will continue to hold exhibitions presenting the works of a wide range of photographers, both professional and amateur.

Ikuo Tatsumi is a journalist. After stints as a Kyodo News reporter at locations such as Maebashi, Sendai and Sapporo as well as in the Foreign News Section at the head office, he served as Phnom Penh bureau chief and was assigned as a video and news desk journalist at the Tokyo MX television station. He is currently an editor of audio-video news at the head office. Tatsumi has written many newspaper and magazine news articles, including photo-illustrated overseas reportage, and he has also produced many video reports. Tatsumi has completed over 40 full marathons. He continues to run in marathons throughout the world, holding a compact camera in one hand and taking photographs along the way.

[A note from the photographer]

At marathons held in major cities abroad, there is a festival atmosphere both on the course and alongside it. The runners, cheering spectators and volunteers all have leading roles in this festival. It was my ambition to hold this kind of marathon in Tokyo, and I also wanted to communicate to people the fun of running together. That is why I got involved in activities to promote the holding of the Tokyo Marathon, and it is also why I began taking photographs while running in marathons around the world. On these 42.195 km journeys, I encounter many people, who give me strength to keep running. I hope you too will enjoy these encounters with such people, these instants of the heart dancing!
